PCs for People

A recent StarTribune article highlights the successful work of PCs for People, a primarily volunteer-run nonprofit organization that refurbishes donated PCs and makes them ready to use for low income families who otherwise would not be able to afford a computer.  

Home access to computers and the Internet is essential as more and more processes (like applying for jobs, completing schoolwork, connecting with family and community) are Internet-based.  For more information on the current state of access in Minnesota, see the Blandin Foundation Broadband Initiative and the Minneapolis Community Technology Survey results.
